Water catches light
Like I once reached out
To catch a wave
Along this same stretch of water,
This same cosy current of canal
That has slowed, now,
Like my footsteps,
Like my stokes;
Coming back on the bend,
Finding favour
In the freshness
Of all that was once familiar,
Letting go of the longing
To swap steady stream
For seductive sea,
Finding comfort, now,
In the light
I’ve already swam in.
Settling back now,
Sitting down,
Watching the waters
Carefully caress that light.

Lovely, Damien. Full circles that scatter light–like the clouds in the water. <3

Back to the future. What a fabulous, beautiful place for reflection.

It really is beautiful by those banks and I remember being there as a student, taking photos of our designs and collections along those banks wondering where life and the fabric would take us.

The old becomes new. The reflected image is just right. (K)

The image this time was definitely the inspiration- it was calling out for a little time offered up to it
