What is it all about…

A Stickleback is a micro-collection of poetry published by the wonderful Hedgehog Poetry Press, it contains 5 poems under the heading Considering Canvases with Boys and is inspired by 5 paintings Marc Chagall, Georgia O”Keeffe, Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Wassily Kandinsky, paintings which I saw in galleries around the world, over the past few decades, while courting different boys and the poems reflect my thoughts at the time about colour, contrast and connection.

Below are 5 of my watercolour paintings which are details of the original artworks that inspired this micro-collection…

Wassily Kandinsky, La Ludwigskirche en Munich
Marc Chagall, Le Paysage Bleu
Vincent Van Gogh, Sunflowers
Salvador Dali, Young Woman at the Window
Georgie O’Keeffe, BellaDonna
Paul Stephenson
