There is a gentle light shining
in this place not yet home,
pouring hope into a hold
beginning to pull on my grip.

There is a light, a subtle light
adding a lightness to all
that is weighing; the furniture,
the fittings, the fitting into a city
that has not changed
during my absence while I
have not stopped,
a city often angry
as I search for a place
of solitude amid all that leans
towards arrogance, of comfort
to come in from the chaos
and the clutter and the claws
clutching at scraps in the cold
corners the commenters
are unconcerned with.

Tonight, there is a gentle light
to lay under and dream
of what will go where
in this house soon to be a home.

  1. I write in my own language…someone asked me where did you get all these words?
Yeah… where do I get them? When I read others works, poems… is a relief. Someone does have a overload of words …feels good.

  2. Sounds like you are getting acquainted with your new place!
The image looks very intriguing. Is it perhaps a sneak peek of the home to be?
I especially love how you describe that gentle, subtle light giving lightness to all that is weighing.
🌜 Wishing you sweet dreams under the gentle light, Dami! ✨
    Much Love,
    Steffi 🍀

P.S. – on a side note: No SoundCloud version loading for me… Might be a glitch on my side, but I wanted to mention it, just in case.

    • Thank you Steffi!
I just realized in all the motion and movement I didn’t actually record a version of this! Am on it now! Thanks for that!
Almost ready for the big move- Saturday its furniture day and 5 flights of stairs! Will keep me trim if nothing else!
      Much love xx

      • Oooo – that sounds exciting! Remember to call on that “lightening” gentle light when you move all the heavy stuff up!
Looking forward to listen to the recorded version of this poem once it is uploaded.

    • Thank you so much for the wishes! Just coming back home now from a little painting of the new place! It’s beginning to feel a lot like home 🤗🤗 hope all is well with you my dear
