All Cakes baked and eaten (and shared, of course, I’m not obese/selfish!) by Damien B. Donnelly
(who does a lot more sport these days to run off the sugar!)
I am gobsmacked. Awe.
Oh please, I’m godsmacked that I’m not the size of a cow! Come visit Paris and I’ll bake you a treat!! 😊
Coffee and walnut please, and a cheesecake but without the mars bars. If/when I ever make it back up to Paris, I promise I will be round. Just try and keep me out!
Oh my, Damien! I will try any and all of these!
I bake, but I’m not one for decoration. Your creations are as beautiful as I’m sure they are delicious.
Thank you my dear! I now knock on neighbors doors so I don’t eat them all! In France that’s not normally the custom but they are coming round fast! It also keeps my co workers very happy!!!
I can imagine it does!
If I had co-workers, I would do the same thing. 🙂
Looks heavenly 😁
Thank you so much
😊 so a poem … inspired by sweets and cakes?
I think I did one but ate it! 😜
Awesome! It’s cake heaven and very appealing!
Good that you included the soda bread as I am still coming out of a sugar shock after gorging on too many homemade (and vegan) scandinavian cinnamon snails, yesterday…
My hisband and I love Irish soda bread – in fact, one could say, diverse varieties of it are our daily bread.
Much love and happy baking/gorging,
Steffi
It sounds like you need a days detox! I only started baking soda bread last year after a neighbor in Ireland offered me a taste of hers! God it was delicious! Now it’s a weekly treat! And a nice needed break from the cakes! Although I pack my bread with Black treacle to keep it moist so it’s practically a cake in itself!! Happy days!
Haha! More like two days of detox… 😉
I was going to say that the soda in the bread helps alkalizing the body after all those sweets, but then again, who could resist the treacle?!
I know, it’s not quite original anymore, but have you ever tried using joghurt in the soda bread? We sometimes use soy joghurt (apart from honey we live vegan) and it makes the cake nicely fluffy and moist. Should work with dairy joghurt, as well. And I bet it’s good with treacle, too!
Have a beautiful Spring weekend!
