JOURNEYS, PART 6; DAFFODIL DREAMS

I climb clouds
between the night’s blanketed sleep,
a billowing blossom of smoke
that never chokes the mountain moon,
where the world is a warm walk
through a blue breeze
and the only plight
is to find your path
within a forest of daffodils
on a prairie of peace.

On a prairie of peace
within a forest of daffodils,
beyond the billowing blossom of smoke
that never chokes the mountain moon,
I climb clouds
as a blue breeze uncloaks
the confusion of consciousness
and the sky glistens
with a golden glimpse of tomorrow
tipped in a topaz tempered truth.

I climb clouds
to sleep in a dream of daffodils

too distant for daylight to deliver.

  1. My mind has raced on… I have a challenge for you if you’re up for it (just delete this msg if you want though!). Sometimes I receive amazed comments from n.hemisphere folks about how totally opposite the seasons are to what I’m getting Down Under. There’s the debate about whether water runs down the plug-hole differently in n/s hemispheres! 😉 My challenge to you is to tackle the n/s differences (not necessarily my examples), real or imagined, maybe tongue-in-cheek or comical or fantasy, in a poem in your Journeys series. Definitely thinking light-hearted vein here – do you know the Down Under song from the 1980s by Men At Work (Australia)? It wasn’t only popular down here but also in Europe. Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfR9iY5y94s and commentary at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_Under_(song) that gets across the different vibe down here (which you’d be aware of no doubt, from having had kiwi flatmates!!! Tempted?

    1. Okay this is one that needs further thinking, much further thinking… 🤔🤔 I will be back Liz!!! Can never pass up one of your Challenges 🤗🤗

      1. You’re SO nice to consider them Dami! The time thing is interesting, your night being my day! And here’s a quote from Alice In Wonderland that I posted yonks ago: “I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth! How funny it’ll seem to come out among the people that walk with their heads downwards! The antipathies I think… but I shall have to ask them what the name of the country is, you know. Please Ma’am, is this New Zealand?” – haha – what a journey! I love this!!! 🙂 🙂
