Catch cotton kisses
blowing briefly over bodies
on beds, on beaches
basking, baking.
Catch kisses
cuddled in cotton sheets
freshly laid kisses
caressing carefully closed curtains.
Kisses cuddled
on sandy beaches as tides tick through time,
tickling time
with waves washing over us.
Clean, crisp
cotton kisses, candy kisses,
too delicious to last too long,
long kisses
on cotton sheets, worn with laughter,
folds of light laughter,
making movements of moments,
moving moments,
catch the moments
of bodies on beds, on beaches
where tides kiss toes,tickle toes,
wash away woes.
Summer kisses,
cotton candy kisses
on soft sheets of surrender,
like the sand surrenders to the shore,
like the sea caresses the sand,
kisses
in waves never lasting
though sinking so deep
below the surface.

So lovely. ❤
Thank you so much! I thought it was time for something lighter than usual
The repetition of a handful of words is lovely, like waves on the beach.
Thanks Jane. A lighter wave swept Saturday is needed now and then
Love the wordplay and imagery. So light and airy yet w such depth. Beautiful.
Again, like you said, we need lightness to brighten these duller days! And what better than cotton kisses or, even better, you Christmas poem that was utterly delightful. I winter cleaned today to de-clutter and make way for a festive tree next week!! Joy
Lovely, Damien. Thank you for including the audio. I love listening to the author’s inflection, I myself, may have missed.
My pleasure my dear Dorinda. It’s so much fun making the recordings, once you remember to put the phone on silent and close the windows!! Enjoy the weekend
Haha, the phone in background may distract a bit 🙂 You, too!!
