And the leaves
leaned back
by the bench
beneath the branches
to let the light
linger longer
on the memory
now maintained
when two sat together
and dreamed
of the distance
they had yet
to discover.
All Words and Photography by Damien B. Donnelly
Photograph taken in the Jardin du Palais-Royal, Paris
Beautiful. ❤
Thank you Elizabeth, I think the picture already held the story
It does. I love tying together my photography with words, adds another dimension, and appreciation for me.
Used to be our favourite Sunday afternoon stroll 🙂
It’s now my walk to work or lunch outside if the sun shine
Lucky you!
The light dances and I dance with it . . .
Lovely piece Damien. I know this place, but never as a daily thoroughfare. Lucky you to have this along your way!
My walk from work takes me through the gardens of the Palais Royal, the courtyards of the Louvre, across the Seine via Pont des Arts and up through Saint Germain. Sometimes I have to pinch myself!
Sometimes? Only sometimes?! Sssiigghhh…
