Your first photo appears to be false valerian (Centranthus ruber) which also grows wild down south here in Central Otago, the district just north of us in NZ. It blooms in a bright array of red, pink and white looking stunning against the barren rocky Central Otago landscape. We love to see it!
Lovely photos, Damien, obviously taken during a more carefree time than at present. Lots of cool shots–I was especially drawn to the juxtaposition of the monkey graffiti and the sign right above it indicating a military site to which access is forbidden. What is the object with the pandas on it? An umbrella handle, phone case…?

Showed Nigel your first photo – it reminded him that he’d taken photos of the valerian flowers in March and hadn’t given them to me so now I’ve done a cheery post of these colourful wildflowers thanks to seeing your post ๐ Link: https://exploringcolour.wordpress.com/2020/04/03/part-of-my-hearts-in-central/

Nigelโs photos are gorgeous. They are so rich these species. Nature as always plays a blinder ๐๐
